Service Day returned to Paoli for a second year on Thursday, Oct. 13. This event, which paired student with teachers and community members, to take one day out of the year the give back.
Last year’s Service Day was a huge success, many people participated and the feedback from the community was very positive.
“Last year we never anticipated which a huge impact the event would have on students, teachers and the community alike. It was such a positive experience, I am so happy we are bringing it back once again,” said media adviser Heather Nichols, one of the coordinators of the event.
Last year was a huge learning experience and this year changes were made to make the event better for all involved.
“We get so very much from our community, it is a wonderful opportunity to give back. Think of how many donations we get from everywhere, for one day it's about what we do for the community -- not about what they give to us,” said Nichols.
This year's event sent students in and around Orange County in over 30 different projects.
"We look forward to feedback from the school community and hopefully we can hold this event again next fall," said Nichols
